Los Angeles, Feb 19, 2016 – Telesign, the mobile identity company, today announced a new agreement with Orange, one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, to deliver Mobile Identity and Fraud Prevention services this year. This new partnership brings together Telesign’s portfolio of authentication and mobile identity solutions with Orange’s unique insights about its network and subscribers. This combination will lead to the delivery of enhanced mobile identity services and fraud prevention offerings that provide increased security around online account creation and ongoing account access.
“We’re proud to partner with Orange, one of the most recognized brands in mobile, to provide continuous protection for its customers’ online and mobile accounts without affecting user experience,” said Steve Jillings, CEO Telesign. “Telesign research shows that online fraud issues such as fake account registration affect businesses and consumers alike – with 82 percent of businesses admitting it’s an issue for them. Building partnerships with the world’s leading mobile network operators, like Orange, is a key part of our strategy to increase assurance around users’ identity and reduce the risk of fraud around the world.”
The combined services from Telesign and Orange will deliver greater intelligence to Telesign’s Mobile Identity portfolio, which is used by the world’s largest Internet properties, retailers and financial institutions. The partnership will protect consumers from account compromise, falsely declined payments and the fraud and spam associated with fake users. Consumers will also enjoy a more convenient and secure experience, while brands enjoy a stronger reputation and cost savings as a result.
These new services are complementary to the popular GSMA Mobile Connect initiative, which was launched at Mobile World Congress last year and supported by Orange, with an API that easily integrates into partner sites and helps users safely identify themselves online. The Telesign/Orange services are expected to roll out across several Orange properties this year, covering millions of mobile subscribers.
